I think it's great how Alek is exhibiting signs of being gay without him knowing he is gay. It's really genuine and I hope he can stay true to himself throughout the book.

The story is told through an omniscient third person point of view which really invokes interest in me. I want to know more about their relationship because very little information of their past is revealed and it is revealed in snippets.

I watched the movie before I started reading the book. I didn't realize that this would be in the form of letters. I have a different view of Charlie now...he is quite interesting. I feel like if he was a student in my school or even in my life, I would avoid him.

At first I thought the author would start this prequel from the view of Thomas or Teresa, but instead we are introduced to Mark and Alec and their group. I'm not very far along, but the subtle hints dropped by the author make it very hard to stop reading when you start.

I have stopped reading this book because I was struggling to grasp what it was about so I read a summary online. After, I felt that the focus of the book was a little too mature and thrilling for my taste.

Tomas and Cia are really cute and dependent on each other. I think their partnership is heart-warming for the readers and really similar to Katnis and Peeta from the Hunger Games.
The Testing process is getting really interesting. It's a lot more suspenseful than the Hunger Games despite having the same testing phase (fighting in the arena).

So far the book is just like the movie. It's pretty gripping.
