I am so pleased and surprised! I received the copy of Empire: A Novel of Imperial Rome today. I won this through a GoodReads.com giveaway. I am going to read Rome first and then dive into Empire... before I go back to Rome in mid-September!!

I started this book yesterday and read 208 pages in one sitting. This book was recommended by a fellow Goodreads member and friend, Helene Dunbar, and I am glad that I followed her lead.

I've seen two movie versions of this novel... Their images are mixing with the ones created in my mind... Pretty good so far.

I am really enjoying this book; it reminds me of The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub. I like modern day quests set in the U.S. using our huge geography... Plus throw in a bunch of gods from the around the world and I am hooked! I am already on page 230:)

Darn! I didn't realize this was Book Three of the Annals of the Western Shore...

took a little longer to read this one because of the other books I am also reading

Zipping through... though not as quickly as with other books in series because I am reading three at one time (plus podcasts)!

Ooops! I've started another book!!

Okay... confession time: I couldn't wait to start reading the revised version of Scott Sigler's 'Ancestor' so my progress on this novel will definitely suffer...

I am listening to and reading Ancestor! This is the revised version and is a unique combo of fast-paced action and hard sci-fi.

The action level has increased, but this is still definitely not an 'easy read.' Therefore, I am not starting anything else until I complete this interesting journey.
