Why does the writer speak to the reader as if we’re stupid? So much repetition and over explaining. Why didn’t the editor catch these issues? I’m so sick of the characters, especially the cop, Jane, speak to us like we have no idea what’s going on, as if we haven’t been reading this book from the start lmao

The problem with reading mystery novels is that eventually you get to a point where you just become an amateur detective trying to figure out what happened instead of just enjoying the book as a book 🥲 still loving this, though!
