i fear i’m never going to get over this book

obsessed with how sherlock holmes is a dog person and also how watson’s just like “wow our client is pretty” and sherlock going “?? was she?”

the way this book opens with watson going "hey sherlock buddy maybe lay off the drugs" and sherlock going "i abhor the dull routine of existence" and me feeling like i got punched in the stomach even though sherlock's saying that here with a smile !!!! gonna scream because the way i just think about how watson is already going "you have a beautiful mind and you're poisoning it" i'm fine

pov u miss elementary so much that you’re reading the og sherlock holmes stories and sighing twirling your hair imagining jonny lee miller and lucy liu in period drama clothes

man i can’t express enough how much i fuck with this book. like i’m a little obsessed. also a little horrified. every 60 pages i need to put this book down and take a break doing something fun and light otherwise i’ll start seeing shadows everywhere fr

oh hilarie burton morgan talking about what she considers her ithaca . . . me thinking about how one day, my parents are going to sell the house, and i’m going to visit it one day, nearly twenty years later, and stare up at the window that used to be mine and wonder if the patch of ground that my mom turned into a garden still grows perilla leaves.

hilarie burton talking about how christmas romcoms and also lifetime movies are actually great is so real . . . and also wow, not to be parasocial or whatever, but the burton morgan family sounds so sweet

not to have parasocial tendencies or whatever but anna akana has always felt like a cool older cousin to me and i just know i’m going to blow through this book bc ilysm anna please tell me how to be settled in this unfeeling world!!!!

my personal opinion of this book so far is that it's much better if you're listening to head like a hole by nine inch nails while reading this story. (which is to say that . . . it's not bad--i feel like this story would have probably been made better as a short film or a limited series though)
