Of all those in this series, this is in a league of its own where I'm concerned. It's not often I read a book of this length in a few days nor applaud an author while doing so. A masterpiece of plot and premise that shows how Silva is one of the best with spy mysteries. Truly remarkable storytelling. 6 star review tomorrow.

This is possibly the best one of all those I've read, which coming from someone who prefers literary fiction says something! It's reminiscent of the movie, Zero Dark Thirty, since it's plot was the true story of killing Bin Laden.

Must be the first and only time Allon meets with the US president in private which shows how serious the mission to rid the terrorist organization of its leader.

Not the best he's written but unique in its own right

Bravo Mr Silva, Bravo! Like a movie we move into the finale which will no doubt turn the rest of the plot on its ear!

Rapidly becoming a favorite due to its plot, pacing and premise which combines elements from many of his others, classic art among them. Refreshing since the formulaic approach in many of the later books is disregarded.

Silva devotes months to research be it religion, location or ideology. Here we witness his remarkable knowledge of the Muslim religion as it relates to the jihad. When characters travel, we experience his research across the globe, street by street, city and towns alike. This is what immersive storytelling is about.

One of the more racially driven stories he's written that encompasses both Indian and blacks. Everett uses first person POV similar to detective narrative only the main character is a hydroligist. Creative to say the least

Definitely one of the best in the series in spite of the publishing date. Unlike most of the others Allon masterminds an operation to eliminate a terrorist network using one of their own as the mole. And the cheese to bait the mouse is a classic work of art he personally restored!

Of all the books he's written this is one of the more unique narratives written. The story of a black hydroligist on leave near Denver who encounters a group of Indians on the reservation. Soon after two FBI agents are found shot. Everett mixes medical diagnosis statements, sections of Indian legislation and hydrology reports with the plot. Unusual to say the least

Published in '96 this is far different from his others. I would label his earlier stories as the Western period, though he did write others later on from the cowboy perspective. But with this one we have both black and Indian characters making it unique

One of the better plots in the series. Allon has the goods on the daughter of a Saudi billionaire who supported terrorists though she has no idea he was the one that murdered him. Talk about high stakes cat and mouse!

While this is time I've read two sequential episodes, it's unusual to see a character from the first return in the next, though there's a nice logic to it. It's also good to see the formulaic plot he's used in many has yet to show up in this one

Regardless of plot Silva is a pacing master, his short illuminating chapters with cliff hanger endings keep the reader engaged

Good stuff and happy to see Sarah Bancroft again having met her in another of the series. Hopefully the plot in this one will differ from the last few.

First time I've read sequential episodes and this one is terrific. Allon and Chiara are offered partnership with Julian Isherwood while terrorists wearing vests target the French, English and Danes.

Have decided to call it quits due to the switch in focus. Overall it's unique and the author, knowledgeable.. A short 3.5 star review tomorrow.

I find it curious how the author segues from tree stories to geographical and cultural in the second part, and mentions of trees or their songs have been left out for the most part. It's interesting nonetheless

A symphony can have several movements and Operation Masterpiece mimics with three if not more. Another well planned out masterpiece from the mind of Daniel Silva

Like a rocket about to launch Silva does what he excels at. Momentum toward the finish line. Excellent!

While enjoyable it lacks the acerbic humor I've experienced with others in the series, sad that it is :(

There are two recurring elements in nearly all of the Allon stories. A monstrous financial network run by a deceptive criminal and how Allon uses his girlfriend as the key that opens the lock. While the plots and pacing are ideal, this redundant component makes it predictable

Team Barak assembles with Allon at the helm and we all know what that means!

Terrific story, and one with one of the more unique plots in the series. But I'm not about to expose its nature since there will likely be twists toward the end

One of several great attributes is the author's mastery of pacing which when added to research immerses the reader in the story world. And Silva does it as good or better than most

Fascinating story about Kurt Voss who with Eichmans help ruined the lives of millions of Jews and managed to slip away undiscovered..

While it's funny and unique it's not his best, a lackluster finish the reason. 3.75 star review tomorrow
