Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption is an excellent novella, but the movie is better. Stephen King gives us the great characterisations we expect, but also a lot more exposition than the film, which drags a bit. Also, it's not quite as dark as the movie. Also, Morgan Freeman.
