Journey before destination, you bastard.

Still very into the story (minus the Avatar-esque elements), but god the prose gets tiring. So much of this doesn't need to be said!

Anyway, I'm about 40% into the book if you don't count the appendices (I don't), so I should soon be reaching the point where Villeneuve's movie will end.

I will die of suspense and tension.

A pretty much perfect review of plague. 4 and a half stars.

Dramatic irony hurts.

Still not fully into the writing style, but I'm really starting to love some of the characters. Only problem is I'm more than a fourth, almost a third, into the book and it still all feels like setup. We know what the inciting incident is going to be, I want to get into uncharted waters already!

Having read half of Rhythm of War feels like having read an entire epic fantasy novel.

Saga works so much better in collection than monthy. Unlike, say, Fraction and Aja's Hawkeye, single issues of Saga can feel pretty unsatisfying.

Finally things are happening. Very curious about the choice to tell us the Harkonnen plan before it's enacted. I guess it helps because if we were waiting for a reveal, we'd have been disappointed it's so banal, but instead we're now focusing on the ways the Atreideses respond. So far, I'm not finding that bit all that interesting either, but hopefully that'll change soon.

On one hand this is so beautifully written, on the other the prose is so confusing I read a whole conversation scene unsure if there are three people there or four.
