I'm not loving this book. It's dense, and in a way that isn't very enjoyable. While I appreciate the world building, the characters are falling flat and one dimensional—as if the world was more important to the overall narrative than the characters, and round, dynamic characters have always been more important to me as a reader. I want to give it a bit more time, as I think it deserves a bit more effort on my part.
