The Balloon Hoax.

Finished with Marie Rogaet. I didn’t enjoy this as much because it was essentially a rambling lecture and was difficult to take it all in and gain much understanding of the events.

The Murders in the Rue Morgue.
I had heard of this story in passing but had never read it. It was a great story and i enjoyed reading it, it may have been some knowledge of the story before hand, but i started to predict the identity of the murderer before Dupin had shown the evidence. Awesome story.

Four beasts in one — The homo-cameleopard.
This was less a story than an artistic telling of Antiochus Epiphanes striding triumphantly to the hippodrome. The time frame given is odd...3,830 BC... yet the actual Antiochus Epiphanes lived from 215 BC to 164 BC.
Still i enjoyed the visual telling. You could almost see the city in your mind.

Gold-bug. This little tale kept me glued to the book, it was fun. Many apologies to my wife, she kept telling me to read Poe, but I always considered him a dreary man with an obsession with the macabre. Now reading his short stories I’m very surprised at the different genres he wrote in. It’s been awesome. Thank you to my wife. :)

Gold-bug. So far a very clever story about being bitten by the aforementioned beetle.

Hans Pfaal was just fun read, a man with nothing but misery on earth attempts to leave it by way of balloon. If only his destination were really reachable by a sack of hot air.
Great first story.

Fuzzy buddy read

So far I really like this book and I’m pleased that it was made independent of Asimovs other series. Gives more free reign to the author to try new things.

Considering how often the different SM chapters get in each others way (never informing each other if they will be in the same area) it’s a wonder that they get anything done.
