So far, so good. I love the old star wars books, they have so much more personality.

And here it is.... we all knew what happened and reading about it didn't make things easy. Writing it in such a personal and human way made this a hard part of the book to get through. It felt almost like being there and like you were intruding.
Now the aftermath.

Despite my dislike of certain aspects of Jim Henson's personality, I far far prefer him to the Corporate sector of Disney. Only corporate lawyers could make the devil weep.

Skipping some parts. No interest in his affairs.

A good read and yet that old adage springs to mind. Never meet your heroes.... or in this case read about them. You’ll always find things that tarnish your shiny idealistic vision of them.

The three Wiggin children are all geniuses and also possess one form of psychological defect. All three are arguably clinically psychopathic, the way they are dealt with or ignored by adults is no doubt affecting the way they develop. All three need serious counseling and in the case Peter, needs to be locked away.
Children should never be given power over adults and adults should stop neglecting children.

There seems to be something sinister behind these events. Some huge lie.

So far so good, though I am imagining the young characters as teens. The way Card writes his characters, their personalities don’t fit children. Still good.

So far it’s great. Even though I would do a lot differently, but than again I have over 30 years more life experience than those boys.

Reading Parmenides.
The sign of an intelligent and understanding mind is the ability to take the complex and distill it into a simpler form that any lay-man can understand.
The sign of a fraud is taking the simple and making it so complex that not even god could make sense of it. What the heck did Parmenides say?

Finished with The Symposium. Now onto Parmenides.

Hmm, Socrates speaking about love, it's like a tortoise describing the feeling of flying. He was a real jerk to his wife, whom he married married because she was from a well-off family and he decided he was too important to work. I'll say it again, he does have good points at times but that doesn't mean I have to like him.

Great read, who knew so many outlaws crossed the border so often. So many nasty people.
