It’s almost as if the author read my mind. I was about to quit this series, even though I like the premise, but the 4th book has moved exactly in the direction I wanted (and DCI Perfect has gone off the boil).
There seems to be more happening in this book than the previous 3 put together so maybe they were intended as an introduction.
