I realize that the story of Shane Wheeler is supposed to be told too, but adding the story of Dee's son is just..aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhh. I'm losing focus.

«Stories are people. I’m a story, you’re a story..Our stories go in every direction, but sometimes, if we’re lucky, our stories join into one, and for a while, we’re less alone.»
I hope the story of the old American writer who keeps visiting the hotel every year to write his book is told more in detail in the next pages.. Something weirdly intriguing about a character who acknowledges how deeply troubled he is.

Oddly in love with this quote: "This way of consciously relating, which everyone attempts to bring out the best in others rather than go have power over them,is a posture the entire human race will eventually adopt".

Some quotes i liked in the pages i read this week:

'Let your perception of beauty and iridescence lead your way'

'The problem in life isn't in receiving answers. The problem is in identifying your current questions. Once you get the questions right, the answers always come.'

'..it warns against your growth being stopped...it happens when you become addicted to another person'

«This shortage of energy can be remedied, of course, when we connect with the higher source. The universe can provide all we need if we can only open up to it. That is the revelation of the Fifth insight.»

At first,i recall finding it weird to have a stranger narrator to this story, but it makes much more sense since i would've regarded the entire story not with objectivity but with rage and confusion (im already still confused, ofc history-wise with the whole NAACP and constitution stories).

With her head on his shoulder, Jean

Louise was content. It might work after

all, she thought. But I am not domestic.

I don’t even know how to run a cook.

What do ladies say to each other when

they go visiting? I’d have to wear a hat.

I’d drop the babies and kill ’em.

Honestly, i'm kind of surprised Scout is no longer the narrator. For now, still discovering maycomb county after 20 years or so from the 1st book and so far so good

“Well, most folks seem to think they’re right and you’re wrong…”

“They’re certainly entitled to think that, and they’re entitled to full respect for their opinions,” said Atticus, “but before I can live with other folks I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”

I was not so sure, but Jem told me I was being a girl, that girls always imagined

things, that’s why other people hated them so, and if I started behaving like one I

could just go off and find some to play with.

“All right, you just keep it up then,” I said. “You’ll find out.”

First of all,” he said, “if you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot

better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view-”

“Sir?”

“-until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”
