unsure abt how i feel w this book saying gay ppl are the same as straight ppl in wanting assimilation. mostly bc there is no one good gay person in this book other than the narrator, who is queer - all of the rest are deeply biphobic. idk i’ll finish the book first to see if it’s addressed

ok so why is this book so weird and kinda racist to amanda? no one calls her by her preferred name, she’s labeled the uncooperative one, AND she’s the traitor of the group??? meanwhile the rest of the group is light skinned and either wholly ‘innocent’ (becca and marley) or framed as kind of helpless (arianna)
