Delilah Montgomery is so clearly a Taylor Swift parody that I'm having trouble not laughing.

I'm getting so many Fresh off the Boat vibes from this (the ABC show)- SUCCESS PERMS!!!

I'm amused by this mythical disgruntled Canadian Border Patrol Officer since I've never come across one that's cared enough to lift his/her feet of their desk. The American ones though are a different story entirely.

It's been a year since I read The Silver Linings Playbook. Also, I feel like the story is already hitting its stride.

Are we reaching a climax anytime soon? I mean I'm not complaining but the book's starting to feel aimless.

"I hated judgemental bitchiness, but I was feeling it crawling all over me, like sand fleas. I did a mental slap - slap of myself. Sometimes you gotta keep you in line." I can't remember admiring a female character (in recent months at least) as much as I do Cricket. And it's all right there in those few sentences. Flawed, yes, but never mean, never rude.

I just watched the TFiOS movie. I'm not familiar with this melancholy feeling. I am just so grateful that stories that can deepen the pain and wonderfulness of the world (like this one) exist. "Dear old world, you are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you"

Gotta say, I really resonate with the whole "body betrayal" thing. I actually remember using pretty much the exact same words to describe my feelings about said predicament. Also,I read this on an impossibly long drive from Ottawa. It was -30 degrees (Celsius) out and I would give anything to be in the Santa Fe Liz describes right this moment.

Ummm, so this is due in less than 24 hours (and I have about 3 and a half hours left of this audiobook). I'm also going to be at school all day, and leave for Ottawa tonight. So I'll probably have to check this out again, we'll see...

I am so impressed with the way Deb Caletti seems to be constantly reading my mind. Her characters will make some observation, or do something and I'll nod along because it doesn't feel like too far a stretch to imagine myself doing and feeling those things. The section on "demons" is my favourite so far. It was put in such a relatable and personable way. THIS is what look for in Memoirs.

Listening to this on audiobook. I hadn't realized there was SO much sexual harassment in Greek mythology and I'm not sure I love the way Percy narrated these incidents. But it is first and foremost a children's novel so I'm not exactly displeased either.
