The final book is out so it's re-read time!!

Finally getting to the meat and potatoes part but since I'm reading with the Hubby, progress is intermittent.

It only took 160 pages of SEAL school background but we're finally getting to some good stuff.

This is really, REALLY dry! So I only read a page or two every couple weeks. It's pretty much his letters verbatim. I guess I was hoping he'd be more detailed on the battles but it's mostly things like "they served ham today instead of chicken" or "we went down to (insert whatever name) bay, completed some drills, then came back to homeport".

I really finished this back in November but I'm keeping it here because I want to print out the "tests" at the end to figure out our Love Language. I'm pretty sure I know ours though. As ebook, it's hard to mark the answers. Otherwise, it was interesting. Much of it fell under the 'duh' category though. Not sure why it got the rave reviews but if your marriage is in trouble, I guess anything seems like a revelation.

I'm in love with this book! I absolutely hate that I have to put it down to do actual work. It's not my norm genre but I'm really happy I picked it up. Susanna is such an engaging character and Calvin is stealing my heart. The young love blossoming but not admitted reminds me of my first crush. With Vietnam looming in the background, I'm anxious for both characters and how it'll change them.

I haven't really had time to read what with all the packing and running around but think I'm going to like this book! It's a coming of age story and I just finished a chapter where the main character was dared by her girlfriends to French kiss her long time guy friend. At a time of life where boys are suddenly interesting but you don't know why, this moment had me rolling!
