Not sure I'm fully following the details of the science bits, but the core concepts are making sense - and are fascinating in the context of the current AI excitement...

This is at once really badly written and deeply suspect in both its analysis and assertions, and very readable, engaging, and educational.

Forgot I'd never finished reading this, dipped back in, and it really is astonishing in its detail and breadth. Page upon page upon page of tiny asides that build into an appreciation of an entire era. No idea how this level of research can be arranged into so coherent a book.

So far this is a fairly basic introduction to behavioural economics designed for marketing types who know nothing, but it's decently done, and an OK refresher.

Heaney's Beowulf is rather good, eh?

Reading for work, and it's hilarious how rapidly futurist predictions and examples can get. To their credit, the authors acknowledge this early on, and the audiobook version (recorded 9 months or so after publication) nods to how out of date it had already got in places.

But still, repeatedly using Elon Musk and Bitcoin as positive examples after the last year of chaos is pretty funny...

Forgot I'd never finished this, despite it being exactly my kind of thing. Now listening to the audiobook version while walking the dog, and cross-referencing to the hardback that's been on the shelf for a while. Bar the somewhat suspect accents used for quotations, it's rather well done so far.

Reads well (if with a fair few repetitive phrases), full of stuff I didn't know, but very clearly a series of blog posts stitched together who's self-taught rather than someone who's an actual expert.

Still, despite the over-claiming title, it's really designed to be an introduction to people you probably haven't heard of. In this it succeeds nicely.

I was initially chugging through this far too fast, so have decided to slow down and savour it a bit more.

This is pretty solid so far. I just wish the non-English quotes had translations - they're especially hard to follow in the audiobook version.
