Big plot turn in my reading session last night. It made me think about Abercrombie's plot turns, and how they are so different from other authors. I feel it's primarily that for Abercrombie, a plot turn is not a PLOT device, but more a CHARACTER device, as his plot turns almost 100% of the time are driven by a character's motivations, rather than a device of plot. It makes them inherently more plausible.

Been listening to this one on and off the past few weeks. To be honest, I'm 39% into the book and still waiting for something remotely interesting to happen.

This is already a memorable finale, simply because I have absolutely no idea where Abercrombie is going to take the story. There are so many directions it can go.

I feel like this is prime Abercrombie. It's so good

I'll finish this today. While not as compelling to me as The First Law, it's still damn good.

I like the balance of the new in the story, while still having bits of nostalgia, mostly character-related, throughout.

A lot of character to keep track of initially. Meeting Glokta's daughter was trippy!

Easily the best Jack Reacher book since The Killing Floor.

I've been waiting for one of these Jack Reacher books to be as good as the first one. This one is off to a tremendous start, so hopefully!

I'll likely finish this tonight. This book is fantastic!

Portions of this have been recycled elsewhere, but I'm still enjoying it nonetheless. A bit dry at times, but still incredibly rich in the world building aspects.

This one is testing my resolve that "I'll read anything by Stephen King." zzzzz
