For all the awesome things that happen in this book, there are also occasional chapters that could have easily been condensed into one or two paragraphs. Perrin walking around being bothered by everyone in town and just telling them to follow their instinct? This is a perfect example of why "show, don't tell" is not a hard and fast rule. Sometimes telling is just fine if it keeps the story moving.

After Christmas I like to go and update my Amazon wish list, which is a fairly depressing activity considering the next time anyone will look at it will be in September.

After the Barnes and Noble in Orem, UT dropped the ball and sold my reserved copies of two out of print Brandon Sanderson hardcovers (Alcatraz 3 and 4) instead of shipping them here, I called all around and found one in Salt Lake City and another in Texas (they're both over $50 on Amazon now). I will finally have a complete collection of all of his hardcovers, and will be getting them all signed next month!

All of my friends are reading this series faster than me. Stop it!
