This is curing my depression

So for the first 80ish pages I couldn't get Harry Potter out of my head while reading and just making comparisons, and that's just not fair to Carry On. As soon as I let go of that comparison game, I started loving this story more.
It's great. I hope it stays being great.

I'm happy that the Dumbledore parallel character's shit is getting called in this one. Also the weird pairing off of all teenagers ever. I'm digging this Chosen One with a Twist thing so far!

This is... really weird. I'm not sure I'd have picked this up of my own volition, but now that I have I wanna know what happens.

I thought the time jumps would confuse me but OHMYGOD they're so effective at keeping up tension in the story. I am so worried for Monday. My heart breaks for Claudia.

Well, they've met. And Ayla speaks Zelandoni now? I'm THRILLED that she stood up for herself and her family when Jon was being a jerkhole, but there's something about her docile expectation of fulfilling men's needs that makes me way more uncomfortable in this book than it did in the last. Fingers crossed that this ends happily.

We love a girl protagonist who has a grasp of her own sexuality in this household. Also, I'm a slut for the nutcracker and dark retellings so.... big fan so far.
