Strike One: Real-Life-Reference
Ferris Bueller's Day Off:: I had to look this up because I didn't know what it was and I don't like having to do that. I understand wanting to make things easier to relate to, but if a reader doesn't know anything about that reference, then the story falls short for them.
However, I do enjoy the humor.
