I'm irritated that it took three complete books and eighteen full chapters before Aveyard introduced an interesting character. Also, as a bad-to-the-bone-force-to-be-reckoned-with-lesbian? Aveyard, here is your one "Bravo!"

If there is another book in this epically bad series I am going to be so irritated.

I got this back from the library (the audio copy), and it is seriously painful to get through. Awful writing, atrociously pathetic characters, and overall, just disappointing after The Birthmark (which I so loved). I am on part 10 of 11, so hopefully the pain will be over in two listening hours.

I hate this book. I hate the heaviness and the seriousness and the lack of concern people at the college have for Cassie, unrealistic and really infuriating.
