I'm loving this already.

I haven't ready any of Hillary's books and was worried the narrative would be dry and stiff, but it feels almost conversational.

..still not sure how I feel about this book so far.

This was a complete cover buy for me, and I've never read a story set in this setting so I've been a little hesitant. But I think I'm enjoying it? Now that we've got introductions out of the way I'm excited to see where the story goes.

I would never ever want this series made into a movie... But I can't help but wish I could see Roshar on screen.

I am living for this book. Honestly, while I loved Kestrel & Arin in the first 2 books I was always worried how they would come to terms with the lies and the constant balance of power. But this book is fixing all of that beautifully. Choosing trust? Here for it

I love pain. And I love fresh starts. And I love Arin. And I love Kestrel. And I love this series.

Something Old, Something New: 5 Stars This was everything I wanted out of this collection. With Cinder narrating, the wedding, & proposal it was the perfect way to end the series.

The Mechanic: 4.5 Stars Cinder & Kai's meeting from Kai's pov? Yes, please! Loved it!

The Little Android: 2.5 Stars It was a cute story, but honestly j skimmed most of it. I don't know, I guess at this point in the series I would have rather read about someone we already knew than a short story about a random android.

The Princess & the Guard: 5 stars This has been my favorite one yet. I really felt like Winter & Jacin's story was important to understanding their relationship in Winter. It made me love them both a little more.

Michael is about to fuck everybody up.

For the most part I really enjoyed the last couple books. The NY storyline is what holds my interest. I still don't understand why there is so much focus on the west coast stories. the Lucy/Doctor story was entertaining enough, except for the part where I really don't care that much about their characters & it most definitely read as male wish fulfillment. What guy doesn't want to build his own vagina.

I really enjoyed getting to see so much of the Godfather's backstory. This book was so much better than the last. However there had to have been a less jarring way to give us this info. Like the last book, it just completely took us out of the main story. It's been over 100 pages now since we've heard about the current drug war the Mike provoked....I'm just excited to get back into it.

That was..... So unnecessary and boring. I could not possibly care less about Johnny Fontane if I tried & reading an entire book on him completely took me out of the amazing story they set up in the first book. Not to mention he reads as a male wish fulfillment & the narration style grants me no sympathy for him. Here's to hoping book 3 can bring it back.

Dammmmn Mike. I was prepared for him and Hagen to be my favorites & now he's off to Sicily? Still killed it though......(hehehe)

No single chapter needs to be 74 pages. Ever. Otherwise it's an interesting start. Lots of threads to follow.

Still amazing.

Honestly... I already know what's coming and I'm still anxious as hell.
