It's called "What's Good for the Goose..." and it tells the tale of a time-displaced Robin Hood teaming up with reformed (but still cranky) miser Ebenezer Scrooge to kidnap the Goose Who Laid the Golden Eggs. Naturally, hijinks ensue.

Dan Mora has become one of my favorite artists.

Almost to page 1200....and we've reached day 10 of the story! These are some very long days.

What's the book you most frequently recommend? I'm not saying it's your FAVORITE book (picking a favorite book is like picking a favorite piece of macaroni and cheese), but the book that you're most likely to recommend to a random stranger.

After a week filled with terrible people saying and doing terrible things, I'm so unbelievably grateful for the community of folks here.

To all of you out there just quietly being kind human beings every day while gushing about your favorite stories, I'm thankful for you.

Read a book this weekend. Maybe two. You deserve it! Wish me luck in making progress on Wind and Truth...so...close...to...the...end...

Hama cooked with Snake Eyes's backstory.

Am I using that right? I'm given to understand that in the parlance of today's youth, it is a good thing if you are "cooking," but a bad thing if you are "cooked." So it seems like my usage would be incorrect. But if I say "Hama is cooking with Snake Eyes's backstory," it's both the wrong tense, and it makes it sound like he's Julia Child.

Words is hard.

I hit page 850. I deserve a reward.

I don't know if everyone's feeling like things are as bleak as I am, but in times like this, I'm especially thankful for books and stories. They uplift us, empower us, inspire us, comfort us, and just generally help us connect with the best parts of our humanity.

I'm so grateful for all of the writers and storytellers who have given me so much joy.

I really appreciate how committed to the Breaker-always-blowing-bubbles bit the creative team is in every issue.

With the ridiculously gorgeous Skybound Kickstarter compendiums in hand, I'm beginning the very long journey of rereading this series, having read most of the issues in my tweens and early teens. The nostalgia factor is obviously high, but there is very little I don't love about this book. So golly, it's a treat. And Herb Trimpe's art? Highly underrated.

I keep waiting for someone to say, "Crem it in your cremhole!"...

But it hasn't happened.

Yet.

It's a dark and snowy night. Everyone's welcome to come over and read. I'll be pouring scotches from the decanter hidden in the globe in my library...

It occurs to me that despite being utterly shameless, I don't always do enough shameless self-promotion. Which is ironic.

Books are miraculous. They're just words on paper, but they contain whole worlds. They make anything possible. They change lives. They help us understand ourselves and others. And they take us away from the mundane and the everyday and into the extraordinary and impossible.

Am I still reading this??

Wait...what? There's still 1,000 pages to go??

I should note that I'm enjoying the book immensely despite all of my updates focusing on the hernias that it's creating as I lug it everywhere I go.

...and there's hernia number 3.
