Really great stuff. There may be a few little things here and there to quibble with, but I don’t even remember them a few minutes after I notice them. Overall, this is a tremendous treatment of an important subject, and a book that I wish to share with as many Christians as I can.

So far, some wise and helpful advice, but sprinkled with what seen at first glance to be a sort of “overrealized familiology”. I heartily agree with the position that child rearing is highly important, but Krueger makes it sound like the Bible clearly teaches that there’s nothing else more important. Perhaps some balance will be communicated later.

This has started with only a whimper of wisdom. Several legalistic and seemingly fear-driven calls to avoid socializing and television along with at least one passage taken violently out of context to justify such a call (2Co. 6.17-18) have me dubious at the start, but I’ve glanced forward in the book and want to see what else Krueger says.

This is not revolutionary stuff. Convicting stuff, yes. Biblical & neglected stuff, yes. But nothing revolutionary so far that I think could justifiably send a Christian into a tizzy about how “SJWs are the worst, etc.” Really good so far.

I'm intrigued to come across the portions of this book that my conservative leaning brothers and sisters in Christ object to. 2 chapters in, I've found it very helpful and informative, and Biblically balanced and faithful. Keller is not avoiding any topics, addressing already how Christians should interpret the OT civil laws in our NT context, how it could/should look in American society today, etc.
