All the secluded and confined teenagers know a lot of about sex. From where, I don’t know. This is different than a regency novel where adult women are still, basically, infants.

Three POVs…kind of…thins the story

Authors take such funny liberties sometimes.

Mostly just going through the differences between Frankie and Shirley. The POVs are a little wonky and confusing. When Frankie is by himself, the POV is from Shirley’s perspective which is confusing. It’s mainly a story about how mismatched they are, with lots of flashbacks. A lot of declarative statements instead of examples, which is a pity.

Author’s backwards logic that if things rarely go well for Shirley then she becomes MORE optimistic.

Author perpetuates the stereotype

I don’t think the narrator likes this guy. — “They were the pure yellow of a toddler’s urine…”

Just a thought but how about instead of regency romance, we start doing middle-eastern romances? They have most of the same elements.
