"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb..." he murmured. I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word. "What a stupid lamb," I signed. "What a sick, masochistic lion." ~Edward & Bella, ch 13. Is this supposed to be romantic?

"It was hard to keep up - his sudden mood changes left me always a step behind, dazed." ~Bella, ch 13, pg 181.

"How easily frustrated I am," he sighed." ~Edward, ch 13, pg 181.

"As if you could fight me off, " he said gently." ~Edward, ch 13, pg 180. I will be honest, if a boy said this to me, it would be terrifying!

"I don't know how you're brave enough to be alone with him," she breathed. "Why?" I was shocked, but she didn't understand my reaction. "He's so... intimidating. I wouldn't know what to say to him." -Jessica taking with Bella, ch 10, pg 138.

"His face was incredulous, with just a hint of the anger I'd feared. "No," I said softly. "It doesn't matter to me what you are." A hard, mocking edge entered his voice. "You don't care if I'm a monster? If I'm not human?" ~Bella & Edward, ch9, pg 125

"I feel very safe with you," I confessed, mesmerized into telling the truth again. That displeased him; his alabaster brow furrowed. He shook his head growing." ~Bella, ch 8, pg 115. She really shouldn't, then again, he shouldn't be upset about her feeling comfortable with him either.

"He handed me the jacket..." -ch 8, pg 115. What a gentleman, giving the lady his jacket. Very classy.

"You shouldn't do that to people?" I criticized. "It's hardly fair." "Do what?" "Dazzle them like that-she's probably hyperventilating in the kitchen right now." He seemed confused. "Oh, come on," I said dubiously. "You have to know the effect you have on people." -Bella & Edward, ch 8, pg 113

They were both willing to come with me, but I encouraged them to go have fun - they didn't know how preoccupied I could get when surrounded by books; it was something I preferred to do alone. ~Bella, chapter 8, page 105.
