What I am fascinated by is Nin’s exploration of her own sexuality, her own body, not the men’s. She utterly comfortable with objectifying their bodies the way men have always have seen women, that is, through their own skewed lens. But giving poetic expression to the complexities that women undergo when they act on their desires, this is her gift. I’m quite enjoying this.

This novel gets better by the chapter.
