CROW
This is the story of how your wife died.
DAD
I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to hear it.
CROW
But that’s the whole point. She banged her head.
DAD
Crow, really, it’s fine. I know. I don’t need to know.
CROW
Fancy that

Can anyone ever depict grief exactly the way it feels?

This book has me questioning, wondering, searching within myself, and admiring the power of words as well as the person who strung them together.

Ward no. 6 presents a narrative woven between doctors and those declared insane, highlighting the fact that it is impossible to prove your sanity when the whole world stands against you. From the awful state of the hospital, the crumbling system, and the personal motivations people have for bringing their rivals/seniors down, this short story touches on multiple themes. Excellent work by Anton Chekov.

The Grasshoper might just be my favorite short story so far. The descriptions, the dialogue, and the overall message is magnificently done.

Three short stories in, and I am hooked. Chekov is a brilliant storyteller; I can't wait to read more.

The short story Anorexia is too relatable initially, focusing on a man with an unquenchable appetite for books. With every short story I have read so far, I am lured deeper into this world of strange characters that somehow make perfect sense despite their strange habits.

Excited to read further.

I have read the first short story, titled Ubiquitous, and I found it rather interesting. The writing style is different and uniquely whimsical. Excited to read more.
