Doesn’t make sense at all. ‘I beg your pardon’ ‘beg your pardon’ makes sense never have I heard someone say begging your pardon, girl could have said ‘excuse me?’ Or ‘what’ people back then did use what and excuse me.

Already guessed the plot. Locke betrays her right? And Taryn does the same, Locke is probably Taryn’s lover. Before reading I saw so many reels showcasing Jude as a strong female lead, powerful. She’s not. Literally not in any form, she just deals with it while being oblivious that’s not a strong female lead. Always complaining while being so stupid, I don’t feel tied to the plot.
