I originally had picked this book up out of curiosity and the fact that it was about two cat detectives that solves crimes in their neighborhood. I hadn't read the book sadly when I had first picked it up, but recently decided to give it a read to my Y Club kids this week. So far we are all enjoying the book and the kids have predicted that Jonas Shurmann, our protagonist, will get eaten by the Dusenbury House ghost.

To be honest, this is fascinating and a little daunting to learn how the United States started doing after the Revolution. I wasn't expecting to read how it was hard for the new U.S. to get money and maintain the troops they needed to keep out the "Native threat" and to keep the Western expansion going.

I'm really bad about updating my reading progress, but within the last 80 or so pages the book has taken a turn. it's not a bad turn, but it is causing me to keep reading into the wee hours of the night just to see what happens next.

Ooh... Loki, I want to smack you so hard. why can't you just be with Amy instead of being your usual manwhore self? I love how the novels don't play around with the romance too much, but at the same time, I want the relationship between Loki and Amy to blossom.
