Lee Child often chooses to give you character descriptions piece-by-piece over time, which allows you to fill in the blanks with your own flavor. It's the actions of his characters that give us the clearest picture, and I find his villains to be just delightfully dastardly bastards.

This dude does gross really well. Made the mistake of eating breakfast when starting this book and lost my appetite.
