Woops, sorry when I wrote the last update I forgot to actually update my reading progress

Ok, so apparently the Jane Doe case is never happening, but YES, PIP, document all the information!! Then when she "dissappears" maybe someone will be able to find her with all the evidence and data she collected. But I still think a change of scenery would be nice

My theory is that her stalker is going to kidnap her. Also I think it's probable that it's Max. And also also, Pip is super smart by making that spreadsheet. I 100% approve!

But when is Pip going to start this Jane Doe case? Honestly the book would be more interesting if she just went to college and the setting could change for once. Three books in the same tiny town is too much and is getting boring and repetitive.

Soooo..... unless I finish this tomorrow, I'll probably be putting it down when Wild Reverence and Fearful come out on Tuesday

SPOILERS* and just some more thoughts. I'm done with the theories

But also I totally do not trust this Daniel dude, and Max is very twisted. I think Howie is innocent though, aside for the drugs. Oh, ALSO!!! I am 99% sure that the "old pay-as-you-go [phone] with some credit left" that Naomi found is actually Andie's missing burner phone (Jackson 268).

But I would still have him act accordingly so it makes sense looking back, and because as the writer knowing how it ends before it says it in the book, I probably would make it way to obvious because I know the answer and would be thinking of this while writing it. Again, he has less motivation and evidence against him, but I think this is odd in the book right now, and as an author this makes a ton of sense.

Following the usual pattern, I think Pip should have put him on the list by now, or at least voiced that he is acting strangely and knows a lot of the people who were involved with the Andie Bell case. If I were the author trying to make this a good twist at the end, I would never outright have anybody be suspicious of him in order to make it so that nobody guessed him as being responsible.

The second is that the murderer is Stanley Forbes because he is acting awfully suspicious. Using my author mind, this would be a result of a plot twist which is why he was never put on the Persons of Interest list despite some sus actions.

time for update number 3.....

I have two theories. *CONTAINS SPOILERS

The first is that Andie is alive and is the one who texted Max, Naomi, and friends to blackmail them, and possibly killed Sal. She could have heard about the hit and run from calamities since she dealt drugs and was around people who might spill secrets while drunk, or if Max was Secret Old Guy and told her.

I am so in love with this book right now. It is so sad and emotional, and Tahereh Mafi might have one of my favorite writing styles out of any author because it actually sounds eerily similar to how I write. I really love the characters and it is super realistic and I know I already said this but REALLY SAD. The emotion is conveyed so well and I feel everything the character does deep in my bones. Truly heartbreaking

These books go by so fast. Or maybe it's that I'm reading it as an eBook because those tend to be quicker to read for some reason

I know Blythe is amazing but I am actually so sad we don't get anymore chapters in Signa's pov. She is just amazing and I want to see her research, and I need more romance between her and Death 😭

AHHHHH THEY FINALLY KISSED!!!!!!!

But my question is, if Signa touched Death and was in on the other side of the veil, then technically everybody she touched right after that at the ball should have died, like Silas who touched her wrist, right?? But they DIDN'T. So that little plot hole is very annoying but would probably mess up the story line if people were actually killed.
