This book is reading more like a collection of correlating facts than an account of how Vera became “the greatest female agent of WWII”. It is focusing more on the men she met than her when the title leads you to believe it will focus on her and her journey; but she comes across as a footnote.

This book’s set up reminds me a lot of Moby Dick. Starts with the protagonists and how they start of getting out to sea, then it’s facts and information almost like a research paper stuck in the middle, then returning to how the protagonists are fairing.

I will say, the information is fascinating and insightful for the narrative thought and brings things into sharp clarity of what these men went through.
