All these poorly written metaphors and similes are driving me crazy

I hate Addie and I hate that I’ve become intrigued enough to finish this book :(

He goes around killing human traffickers and rapists…but finds it ok to…rape Adeline?? I’m so confused.

“UNKNOWN: Don’t feel guilty, baby. I don’t make idle threats, so consider this a lesson learned.” Out of almost 100 pages this is the only line in the book that has made me feel something, and it was said by the most hauntingly unattractive psycho in the history of fiction. Stalking and murder is not cute.

I’m ready to DNF this book and I’m not even 20 pages in.
