I'm reading this on Libby. I picked it from the Goodreads list of potential International Booker entries. It reminds me a little - so far - of The Hacienda, by Isabel Cañas.

This is another library book that has to be back by 12/02/2025 and can't be renewed again. Why this one? Following up on reading 'Ancient Greece: A Very Short Introduction', my general interest in the Ancient World and prep reading for the Ancient Greek phase of the 'Ridiculous Reading List'.

This is a library book that I cannot renew again. So it must be finished by 12/02/2025. Or given up on. This is part of my recent drop down the English Civil War rabbit hole following my reading of a collection of Cavalier poets and Reprobates by John Stubbs + a fascination with Milton.

This is another read I have begun alongside Alyssa. I've not read any Wharton so this should be interesting. My plan is to finish it at the end of February.

This is my Reading Group pick for January/February. I haven't properly started it yet. But will do.

I've finished my re-read of 'A Question of Upbringing', which is the first book in the 'A Dance to the Music of Time' series (which is 12 books in total.) My plan is to read one a month minimum until I finish. Another read with Alyssa aka Nurse Nurse Reads. I encouraged her to start it and then failed to read anything but Book One. Again. Hey Ho.

This is a Q1 reading project. I seem to have slipped into a series of Big Books baby. They're not the only ones but I'm going to read this along with Alyssa aka Nursey Nurse Reads on BookTube.

This is another slow burn project for 2025. To follow up my read of Trotsky's 'History of the Russian Revolution', which I finished in 2024. I'm also going to add 'Ten Days That Shook the World' later in the year.

I've read the introduction. This is a slow reading project for 2025 so don't expect too frequent updates.

After Reprobates I thought I'd stick to the 17th century and all those Civil Wars.

This is a strange read. Excellently written though.

Townrow, formerly Sergeant in the British Army has come back to Port Said to help the widow of his Lebanese Christian friend, Elie. So far he's been accosted at the airport by a Jewish man and told the British government knew about the Holocaust, gone to a bar in Port Said, got incredibly drunk, robbed, left naked in the desert, beaten up, and arrested. It's is not going well.
