love books where everything isn’t as it seems!!! her humor is SO witty and strange, too, it makes me genuinely smile.

omg this is already SO immersive and eerie and interesting?? i love how rachel gillig’s books immediately take off and flesh out world-building in a way that makes sense and captures interest. the vibes are def more gothic and grotesque in a way than ODW. also learning so many new words that i’ve never heard of before LOL.

omg i think i love gothic fantasies?!! the magic system is so unique and the writing has that super whimsical, magical flair to it that immerses you i’m SO INVESTED. eating this book up too fast.

okay the first few chapters had me extremely confused and i could not keep up with all the new terms and world building being thrown at my face but after watching a spoiler free tik tok video and getting to the initial plot twist- i’m HOOKED!!!! i actually really like the writing and the vibes are so different than what i’m used to i love it

received this book from an advocate after a van tour with elijah rising, an anti-sex trafficking ministry in houston, and i can already say i’m so moved and inspired by these gritty, faithful women who work to spread love and hope to these trafficked girls/women and empower them!! they also provide long-term care/housing, education, trauma therapy, and more for these survivors who have been rescued 🤍

so far not bad- the writing is pretty punctual and the storyline a bit straightforward so far. jinglang has my interest peaked tho

i don’t think i’ve ever cried so much from a book. my face is puffy and tear-stained and i never want this story to end but i fear i’m going to finish it in record time bc i can’t put it down.

absolutely devouring this book so quickly haha- the setting is so unique and fun! idk this book just has that ✨something✨ that makes it so enjoyable to read. also graves is such a cool name and his nickname for kierse being “wren”?!!! so cute UGH

so far it’s okay! the writing is alright and the characters seem a bit flat but they def have more to them i’m sure. excited to see all of them meet up! chapters feel super short but i also think i’m just not used to so many povs
