Another DVD, genuinely curious about the impending outcome of these pages, but still not enthralled by the yarn.

Some stuff finally happens, but not anything that interesting imo. The way that Pynchon anthropomorphizes the “deep web” (a term usurped by dark web since) via Deep Archer etc is super annoying tbh. Second Life sucked and I guess he’s trying to mystify it into something way cooler that just never happened. He mixes up color counts early on (256 rofl) and I think gramps wiki’d major to cobble this together

Wowzers — lots happens, and doesn’t, in 1% of Gravity. Wrapping up Bleeding Edge today so I can focus on Gravity and give it the attention it needs

Finally picks up a bit around Chapter 30, some passages I liked. Overall, Pynchon modernizing his pop reference style to support a digitally-centered story set in 2001 falls flat most of the time for me.
