This is an incredibly emotional book.

Margaret Feinberg never disappoints me. She is full of humor, candor, and wisdom.

I'm taking my time through this book. I do feel the age parameters are a bit off. I can't see freely allowing a 9-year-old on social media or to roM the mall alone with his buddies. But maybe I'm more strict than other parents. Still --- I'm finding the insights and anecdotes useful.

I wish I had picked up this book years ago. Perhaps when Zach was a toddler, rather than a middle-schooler. Good stuff so far!

Travel, art history and restoration, Italian men ... What's not to like?

I'm not entirely sure why I picked up this book this weekend. I am enjoying it thus far, with the odd and delightful fascination one has when faced with raw confessions, neither humble nor flattering.

I always feel like I'm chatting with great friends over coffee on an open front porch when I read this author's books.

It's December, the time of year in which I realize I've started far more books than I've finished. Will I sprint to the end, completing bits and pieces? Or shall I grab another cookie and simply proceed as usual?

This book was highly recommended to me. It seems to mix a "Hunger Games" type society with a Queen Esther (ancient Persia) type competition. It has me intrigued in spite of some inconsistent choices.

This is a YA title. As a mom to a 12-year-old I must offer this caveat: it does include some foul language and references to sex and rape. Nothing explicitly detailed (yet).

I'm finding this book to be more a personal diary of journey than a guide to follow. It's an easy read, but not as enjoyable nor as profound as I had hoped. Still plowing through... Perhaps there are greater gems to discover in later chapters.

It's funny... As I scroll through my Goodreads newsfeed, I find myself far more interested in updates than reviews. What are my friends thinking and feeling in the MIDST of the books? What stirs them enough to comment? What keeps them reading? I suppose this reflects my passion for living life together, celebrating the journey rather than just the destination or product. :)

I love this book so much. It's outside the box of traditional Christian fiction. This author needs more attention.

"But the one thing I do not want to see behind the pulpit is an actor. Leave the theatrics at home, Pastor. Just be real." Yup. That one line sums up why I like this book. It's genuine and funny and real. So far a great read.
