I am a huge reader of Foucault, so I had to read this, dated as it likely is. Foucault isn't exactly of-the-moment, is he?

I am unsure whether the book needed so many pages of introductory remarks. This Revised Edition has two Intros and I found neither to be anything but belabored attempts to summarize the book. Might have done better as Afterwords, since who wants a summary of an entire work prior to reading it? Not me, anyway.

Easier to absorb after reading Introduction to "Symbolic Exchange and Death". Still, a tough read.

Unfairly or not, the notion "queer-feminist theory" so far hasn't shown itself. It is entirely possible the title is self-referential, but it has the appearance right now of being "click-bait-y", and that is not scholarship to me.

OK, I will finish this, but it is so non-academic and merely a TERF treatise spewing hate about trans people. UGH. And she claims to be feminist? Oof.

Just going to say I am appalled Routledge would publish this. But I am reading it so I can shred the author's hateful "theories".

I am unsure why I am reading this. I am convinced we will not stop the Capitalists torching the planet for wealth and power, and that makes me sad and mad as hell. Still, one can bask in the afterglow of resistance, feel some warmth, and bring some light to the darkness. A bit, maybe.
