Gender Hurts: A Feminist Analysis of the Politics of Transgenderism
OK, I will finish this, but it is so non-academic and merely a TERF treatise spewing hate about trans people. UGH. And she claims to be feminist? Oof.

Just going to say I am appalled Routledge would publish this. But I am reading it so I can shred the author's hateful "theories".

Nick Cave is fascinating, and I am surprised at how close-minded O'Hagan is with his questions and assumptions about Nick.

Our History Is the Future: Standing Rock Versus the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the Long Tradition of Indigenous Resistance
I am unsure why I am reading this. I am convinced we will not stop the Capitalists torching the planet for wealth and power, and that makes me sad and mad as hell. Still, one can bask in the afterglow of resistance, feel some warmth, and bring some light to the darkness. A bit, maybe.

Agonistics: Thinking the World Politically
Mouffe's agonistics shows quite clearly why the current White-Liberal-Democracy idea(l) will always fail, as WLD requires not only the idea of a linear progression (right side of history, when there isn't one) but also an end game, a final point (again, there isn't one).

I struggle with Benjamin's lack of rigor, so I am hoping Eagleton's willing lack of any specifics will just make it all OK.

Generally pissed that I have to settle for Biden just because the possibility of #45 winning in 2024 means the Democrats won't put forth a meaningful Progressive candidate. Fuck all.

So Governor Whitmer of MI signs into law some amazing red flag gun provisions for her state's citizens. Then... White Supremacist Michigan People... Livingston County says they won't expend any additional resources to support the laws or enforce them with any effort. Again, White Supremacist People makes unfettered access to guns, even for those known to be a danger to themselves AND others. FUCK.

“ Yet this willingness to judge trans politics as a whole by directly critiquing one television actress’s body, posture, outfit and hair is exactly the kind of inference that would be plainly misogynist if made about a cis woman.”
