The Answer Man: King at his maudlin best. Or close enough for me.

The Dreamers: A mite toothless, tentacleless?, for a Cthulhu-styled tale. Leaves a lot unwritten, which doesn’t work well for said concept.

Rattlesnakes: Hardly a Cujo sequel to me. Still, not bad just not quite dark. Maybe medium grey. Ish.

Seriously, King?!? Snakes are venomous, not poisonous.

The Turbulence Expert: Neat idea, not at all dark. Huh.

Red Screen: Awkward and sexist, to me anyway.

On Slide Inn Road: Good, but unused potential.

Finn: Odd with an unfinished feel.

Danny C’s Bad Dream: Rushed and vague ending, but a damned fine novella.

Willie the Weirdo: Decent, but just so. Mentioning COVID unnecessarily detracts from story.

The Fifth Step: Vintage King. Bonus for no mentions of you/know-whats 🥞🚑🛀🏽

Two Talented Bastids: Yep, King can still write. Just hoping he gets over COVID and Trump soon, in his books at least, as they add absolutely nothing to this excellent story.

Jones is overly verbose at times, but so am I so I can excuse a writing trait that many seem to dislike. He can spin a tale though, and gets the language and cadence of the times quite well. All the blood and death helps.

Absolutely fabulous and visceral and growly!! Love it!
