fascinating. I like the mystery better than the science fiction bits, but only just... Connected soon???

Great pacing and intriguing story. Plus aliens, maths, Bach, and oddnesses!

A fast read, which I find offputting, somehow. Has a YA feel…

OK, this is a novella, not a novel. The margins are large as is the typeface. 🤨🥞🧠💉

Near-vintage Proust. And yet well more than obviously better than most any writer I have read. I 🤎 Proust! 🥞🚑🐈⬛

Liliana's Invincible Summer: A Sister's Search for Justice
Um, there isn’t a November 31st, right? Weird mistake or just copying what her sister wrote? 🤪

An ugly, tough, emotional, and terrifying story. But males have fucked up the world, and it seems they still need reminding.

Wow, this is fabulous! I’m no Arthurian scholar but so much of it is fiction-legend anyway that I don’t care if this “strays from the canon”. It’s just that awesome 🥞🛀🏽🐈⬛

Haven’t read Grossman since the Magicians trilogy and forgot how grand his writing can be. And starting the book with a Month Python quote…

The Dreamers: A mite toothless, tentacleless?, for a Cthulhu-styled tale. Leaves a lot unwritten, which doesn’t work well for said concept.

Two Talented Bastids: Yep, King can still write. Just hoping he gets over COVID and Trump soon, in his books at least, as they add absolutely nothing to this excellent story.

Jones is overly verbose at times, but so am I so I can excuse a writing trait that many seem to dislike. He can spin a tale though, and gets the language and cadence of the times quite well. All the blood and death helps.
