Stream-of-consciousness style is incredible and interesting!

At the start of this book, I resonated strongly with Rachel, but I was also on guard. I’m super glad I stuck with it because the historicity and the vulnerability and the research are incredible and honest and deep.

Careful and critical are the two words so far.

Or researched and reprehensible.

You choose.

Only after you read.

“Nor was he physically touching me...plus he was older than me... so could it be, I wondered, that I was getting it wrong, that the situation was not as I imagined?” Pg.6

Unfortunately, I relate; I’ve been here. We are taught, I feel, as women, to second guess ourselves.

Never again.

Pray the story takes the same trajectory.

So far, there are great chapters of depth and insight and wisdom ... but there are also whole chapters of opinion with comedic hyperbole of which I am not a fan. I could’ve done without hearing any of chapter 4: all of her ideas of what is acceptable in today’s fashion 🙄 Didn’t fit.

The author speaks of many traditions which I have not embraced as part of my corporate spirituality and relationship with God (infant baptism, kneeling congregational prayer, anointing new homes publicly, corporate confession, etc.), however, her writing is wonderful and deep and her application is on-point with all spiritualities.
