The book definitely got a lot better today as our MC has finally switched bodies and the confusing beginning narrative now makes sense as it’s been ~explained~

This is the dumbest reason to leave your hometown and I can’t believe I waited 200 pages to find out this “story” 🙄😅

Picking up some pace but not much. The most predictable part so far is every time it’s not the mc being the narrator, then it’s the next murder victim… immediately lol.

Bored with it being 135 pages in and we, the reader, are still left in the dark about the MC’s “troubled past” that is constantly alluded to but with no details.

Sloooooooow. The characters are also not too memorable, I have to check in with myself on who’s who lol. Also not loving the build-up of whatever “terrible” thing that main character did in Hawaii that has her living in a rural town. I feel like that trope is overplayed 🙄

Not loving this book. Halfway through and it’s been strong 3-star vibes. Not sure if we needed a sequel. Maybe it’ll pick up in the latter half.
