Meh. It has the same feel as The Underground Railroad. The author is giving you a history lesson through the narrative of a woman’s uncharacteristic long life. The protagonist lives to see many cornerstone historic events, though if this were a biography I doubt she would have loved as long. It’s a fantastical history lesson. I love the history, the forcing narrative not so much.
