O and i fell asleep while listening to this today. We probably slept through 1.5hrs at 1.10x speed. I do not regret for one second missing an hr of the making of the price of tides. 13.5hrs to go.

I have been listening to this book for over 27hrs and i am nowhere near done. My goal was to complete this book this year. But, i do not think i am going to make it. Just the level of details on all of her movies, clothes, furnishings... it's so much!

So, i let this run while i was taking a nap to get through the section i felt was super painful. Well, i woke up and was like, "who is this Jade King?!" So yeah, i need to backtrack.

I am learning so much! "Special" comes from "species," the name spices used to go by. When this book was written, the carbon footprint of lamb was less when raised in and shipped from New Zealand to the UK than locally raised lamb (due to grass vs feed, transport, etc). Europeans were totally against eating potatoes (between believing it caused diseases and was "poor ppl" food) until at least the late 18th century.

I totally missed Basque being in Spain, though I think he mentioned it being on the Iberian peninsula. I think some frame of reference for the American audience (or other people, like me, who are not up to snuff on their geopolitical history) would have been nice. Such as this is a historically, very influential part of Europe.

I don't get how i can be just under 19hrs into a book and still not be halfway!

I had never thought of my sensitive nature as being a detriment to being a good parent. I do not think that was Aron's intent, but that most certainly did not alleviate my anxiety about it.

Normally, when i am nearing 11hrs of listening to a book, i am approaching the end of it. Streisand is mind-boggling detailed in going through her entire career. She describes jobs, accents she did as a telephone operator, outfits, art, reviews, classes...
At least the inclusion of songs is nice.
