This book is so removed from what I read, it may as been written in sanskrit. But its amazing! I've never known such despair and pray I never do and yet Hinton/Hardin eloquently write of the despair of a man unjustly accused and sentenced to death. And at the same time, writes a love story to his mom and best friend, Lester. Only half way thru, but so compulsively readable, I'll probably finish it this weekend.

This is brilliant writing, darkest of subjects, but handled well.

I wouldn't have thought Kent could surpass Burial Rites, but wow. Kent's sentences are brilliant, her language at once lilting and then dark and laced with fog. Amazing!
