I have a full load this semester which doesn't really leave much time for reading but I won't give up on this book because it provides a very interesting insight to what otherwise would have been (actually is) considered a taboo topic in today's society

17/08/2021 - Okay, reading Simone de Beauvoir dissing the patriarchy is the unexpected dose of serotonin that I needed this week. It started out as a noncommittal activity, just something to put me to sleep tonight because I have academic stuff to deal with tomorrow but I ended up spending 80 minutes pouring over her chapter in the book. I savored every minute of it. Her wit is electrifying and I am obsessed with her

I am bracing myself for the new semester. Gotta remind myself that I'm only a year away from graduating!!!

09/08/2021 - It's a slow progress. I am on my fourth and final year of college and the workload is *chef's kiss* bound to snap my back. I wish I had known about this book when I was in first year. It's a lot to digest in one sitting but the chapters are presented in an engaging and highly intellectual manner, that, despite the protests of my brain cells, I can't seem to stop reading.

I'm only a few chapters in but this book is just reinforcing my decision not to have my kids. My mother would be most displeased.

07/08/2021 - Day 01 of the Get Smart Program :)

I'm reading this for research purposes, but I'm enjoying it wayyy too much for my liking.

I'm practically forcing myself to finish this book at this point.

I'm reading this to recover from Verity but this book also packed such an emotional punch to the gut that I kinda regret picking it up. Maybe I should've waited a few more days before reading again?
