i’m almost done but i have been dragging on this 1 story idk why

really good so far

the main characters crush on her fiancés dad is weird and gross but im interested

a wild ride so far. feels a bit slow because so much of the book is about cams personal emotional struggle. it’s not bad and i’m sticking it out in the hopes that the twist will be worth it. so far: im frustrated with cam lying to the hostage negotiator about small things to protect luke when she has no idea any of the details. i get wanting to stand by him but some of the lies feel unnecessary? idk

It’s interesting so far. A lot of the negative reviews make some valid points: there are a lot of really descriptive trauma scenes that are both triggering and feel unnecessary to the text. He also describes a young female trauma patient as “gorgeous” immediately after describing the male trauma patients completely different. Will continue reading but might be a DNF

This book was recommended to me because I liked The Glass Castle and it was spot on. There were a lot of aspects of this true story that I didn’t personally relate to but I still resonated with it so so much. The writing is amazing and the pacing is great. I felt like I was seeing through Tara’s eyes in a way I don’t find with many book characters.

It’s kinda intense so far but well written and really captivating.

I found this by accident when I was looking for Lessons in Chemistry and it sounded cute so I’m giving the audiobook a try.
