Hamilton is so in tune with his criticisms and how social relationships have warped with the progression of time. Building an incredible amount of intrigue as well

Kinda eh so far, Dure is the only interesting character of note up to part 3. Simmons’s focus on world-building, specifically in the technical aspects and political side are really tough to read for me. What made the first great was the spiritual nature to every pilgrim and their enduring journeys in a chaotic world. Kinda boring to have the chaos painfully described instead of focusing on the psyche’s of all.

Last chapter of section 4 was particularly captivating with Hamilton using Netta as the figure of modern human apathy when it comes to wider political movements. If I could have a dollar for everyone I know who watches reality TV, specifically ones based around wealth’s activities, hoping that one day they can fuck a rich guy or buy multiple houses in Southern California.

Bio/history was pretty entertaining, her poetry that was presented is also really impressive.

I’ll try to avoid being hyperbolic, but I feel like this might be the most personally affecting reads I’ve set out on so far.

Easy read, makes some solid points, but she has a strong reluctance to even considering the efficacy of a binary between powerful and powerless. She so far has neglected to really look into the relationship between demagoguery and its relation to capital, wealth-building, and power preservation. Made a lot of good points about identity but by dismissing it as a whole, further fragments the individual into nothing.
