I saw this book recommended by other people, so I thought I might as well see what it is. I pressed the preview button and ended up just reading for about an hour. I don’t even own this book yet, but I guess I have to now that I finished the preview. I think it’s super interesting to read a perspective that I have never experienced before, and the sixties seem so crazy. Hopefully I can get this book soon.

I have been binge reading for a few hours now and am so sucked into this story. It’s weird though because it never feels like the end is coming, so I wonder if that feeling will come anytime soon. I love how it’s kept me on edge since it keeps me reading. I’m about to get a bunch of books for Christmas so I need to finish what I can before I eventually start all of those 😭

Okay these characters are everything. Rachel (1st protag.) being mentally ill and obsessive, and Megan (2nd protag.) aiming for the pursuit of pleasure no matter the consequence is such a good combo. One minute I’m feeling empathy and mystery around Rachel’s story, and the next second I’m going “MEGANN, DON’T CHEAT AGAIN 😟” But also girl boss 😜.” They are both so relatable at times, but I love it

The book is super good so far, and I actually love both of the characters now. Megan is not as innocent as I thought she was in the beginning, but it’s made the story much more interesting

Reading this is a little confusing because of all of the hallucinations and flashbacks, but it’s getting a little juicy now. I think my class is finishing this tomorrow but we’ll see 😳

I’m starting to really like the book now. I like Rachel more than Megan at the moment, but I think it’s because I empathize with Rachel’s character more. Then again, I’ve read a lot more from her perspective, so I may be biased. I want the characters to succeed obviously, but at the same time, reading their downfalls is so interesting and makes me inclined to read more t hear about the aftermath

I feel bad for Willy, and I’m lowkey getting anti-capitalist vibes from this book. Maybe it’s just my own interpretation of the book, but it all seems like a critique of the family dynamic being destroyed and further worsened as a result of a lack of financial means

So far I like this play, especially the character Happy. He is such a catch, and I mean than in the most desperate housewife way. He’s so witty and charming, even if he is fully conscious of how awful he is. At the moment, Biff is boring to me, but maybe his character will become more interesting with time. Willy is just mentally ill. If it stays as humorous as it has, then I think I will enjoy this heavily.

I like the diary entry style of this book already. I can already tell that this narrator is pretty honest, as she herself is already open to the reader that she is not perfect. This book is supposed to be quite a suspenseful read, and I’m so excited

The climax is coming at any point now, and I’m honestly terrified. I don’t want to know what happens next, and yet I want to keep reading. That has pretty much been the feeling I have felt throughout reading this entire book. I can’t wait to read more tomorrow, and possibly even finish the book if I have time!

Plot thickening even more, and my stomach had definitely turned more than I wanted it to. However I didn’t care for the chapter about all the American monuments. Kind of boring if you ask me. I am super proud of how much progress I’m making with this book though! I can’t believe I’ve made so much progress in such little time.

I’m actually super invested in this story now. I just read for probably 3 hours, and I have to say that that was a very well spent 3 hours. If I keep up reading the book at this pace, I might even finish it by the the end of the weekend. Humbert is so deranged though, but it’s fascinating to see how chance has worked in his favor

The plot has finally kicked off, and I’m thoroughly disgusted and hooked at the same time. I always get a weird feeling of not wanting to read and yet wanting to see what is going to happen next when I pick up this book. I do wish it was a faster read though, as it is quite exhausting to read for hours and make such little progress.

Okay book so far, nothing extremely remarkable. I do find it crazy how such conflicting stories have been presented together and yet both are valid ways to find purpose in life. I guess that’s the point of the book after all

More amazing quotes. Take Away: live in the present. I don’t how I should execute this as there are many different opinions, but there’s only one way to find out! Reading these few pages was the best way I could have started my day, and I hope to do this more often.

Today’s quotes were actually incredibly interesting, mainly dealing with religion and the meaning of life. This book is going to throw me into an existential crisis if I keep reading it. However, I do like how much it makes me contemplate my decisions and everyday behaviors.

Still not really all that great in my opinion. My favorite part of today’s reading was Gatsby’s first kiss with Daisy. I genuinely felt sucked into the story for a second, but then it was the end of the chapter.

I don’t really know how to feel about the beginning of this. I know all of the Spanish already that it’s teaching, and I don’t really like that they changed the story to fit the whole “Spanish learning book” vibe. Ok give it a few more chapters before I judge it too harshly. I got it for free after all

I read these short passages before the football game on Friday. Reminded me of cancel culture today and whether we should forgive people who commit horrible mistakes in their past. I think it most definitely depends.

An interesting perspective to see how the rich lived shortly after reading the Jungle (being a direct parallel to this). I don’t really connect with Nick yet, but maybe this will change with time. It is so clear that he is bisexual though, and IN LOVE with Gatsby. I don’t care how much Nick talks about Jordan, the ways he talks about her can’t even compare to how he talks about Gatsby.

I didn’t really have much of an urge to read tonight, but I did anyways due to how this weekend seems that it might be busy. Due to how tired I am, the questions posed today did not impact me as much as they usually do. I enjoyed reading about the idea of whether humans have inherent altruism though, as I ponder the very same thing.

I learned quite a lot from today’s reading, but I think I may have read a bit too much to comprehend everything. I’m beginning to understand what existentialism is now due to all the somber topics addressed.

These quotes were especially interesting today. They dealt with the implications of suicide, the idea of whether free will is real or not, and how our purpose must be created rather than followed. I’m really enjoying this book so far as the quote’s analysis is very succinct. It provides just enough background info paired with the author’s opinion to maintain my interest.

Really interesting and thought provoking questions posed so far by the author. I like the writer’s explanations of opposing viewpoints in regards to the quotes. Reading a non-fiction book is also quite relieving after reading mounds of classic fiction.

This book so far is quite...interesting. The protagonist has a very weird mindset and attitude towards other humans, and it feels weird trying to untangle why he feels so pessimistic of life. Hopefully they explain this in more depth than just the simple clues the author has given so far.

Wow, the amount of emotional turmoil this book has given me today is absurd. I never thought I could read so much of a classic novel in one day, but here I am. I am so curious as to how this book is going to end given everything that has happened. If the book stays this interesting, then you bet that it will be receiving one of the highest scores I’ve given a book in a very long time.

You know this book is getting good when I started reading at page 51 and on page 118, I still want to read more. I have such a connection with the whole family now, and I just want all of their troubles to melt away. HOW CAN THEY HANDLE ALL THIS? I know they need to endure it all in order to survive and not die of hunger, but it just makes me so sad. This is why I hate capitalism ❤️
